Welcome to the personal pages of Paul & Phyllis Wicks
We currently live in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire in the UK. We have four adult children who no longer live with us.
Paul lived in the village of Rillington from the age of two(at that time in the East Riding of Yorkshire), and is an Old Scholar of Bootham School in York. Phyllis was brought up in Ashford in Middlesex where her father ran a local hardware store.
We met when we were both studying at the University of Leeds in the 1980s. We continued to live in Leeds for a few years after graduating before moving to Watford when Phyllis started a new job in London.
Paul trained as a primary school teacher at the Wall Hall Campus of Hatfield Polytechnic and then taught at Chater Infants School in Watford for a couple of years before going on to study for an MA in Curriculum Studies at the Institute of Education in London. Eventually Phyllis's career in IT Project Management brought us back to Yorkshire in the late 1990s.
We are both members of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). Phyllis's interests include reading (we have over 2000 books), Anglo-Saxon history and knitting. Paul's interests include family history, natural history, computers and Doctor Who.
