Frederick William Helmore

Occupation Medical Practitioner. MB, ChB (Otago), FRCE (Ed in). Practised in Christchurch until war. Served in Nav y as Medical Officer at training establishment HMS Tamaki ( later HMNZS Tamaki) on Motuihe Island in Hauraki Gulf. Als o for short period on HMNZS Achilles. After war returned t o general practice in Riccarton. Shortage of doctors follo wing the war made heavy demand on his health and he died a t age 47 from a heart attack brought about by overwork. Kn own during war as Joe.
